“Well it was Christmas time, and they let us come home from Vietnam for two weeks, and I never received the official orders, and (….) , and on top of that (…), not to mention (…)”
“So wait. You never went back?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Cause I was nineteen. And I was scared.”
I do believe that’s considered being AWOL. And AWOL enlisted don’t get the right to receive a flag. So…sorry old man.
